2012 saw the launching of a legendary number pairing by a much-beloved Japanese manufacturer, Toyota. The Toyota 86 was a joint project with Subaru, with the Subaru variant called the BR-Z. This two-door rear-wheel-drive fastback-style coupe featured a Subaru flat-four boxer engine coupled to a Toyota transmission, and the two companies collaborated on development. For North America, Toyota granted some units to its Scion brand as well, resulting in cars like this 2013 Toyota Scion FR-S. This example from California wears a healthy 95,000 miles that’s barely a sweat for a Toyota and comes with some tasty upgrades on the outside as well as under the hood.
